Since I first started communicating with the site Chrysa and Petra, the two administrators were really friendly but professional. So even before we arrived we already had high expectations which were fully met. The site is spacious with really good facilities and excellent staff. Even when it was very busy the site was running smoothly having customer experience as staff's main focus. The area of the restaurant, bar, common room, mini market and swimming pool offered relaxing atmosphere, good quality food and drinks, and piece of mind. At the same time for my 8-year old daughter the place was a heaven of meeting other children and spend quite a few hours in and out of the pool. I could even do some work (if I wanted) having a pint of beer next to me. The food at the restaurant very adequate (the usual range of souvlaki, Greek salad but with pleasant surprises of local dishes like stuffed peppers or baked aubergines). Vicky, Yorgos, Mimis and the rest of staff made sure that we were receiving high quality service. Team work seemed to be their secret which worked really well (with Iliana, the site owner to work beside them as one of them). And then it was the events - almost every other day. We had two zumba nights and two music gigs which were very well received.

We had hired our tent which coped very well in two occasions of almost torrential rain. It was spacious with two compartments/"bed rooms". We were given mattresses, bed sheets and pillows so we felt comfy. We were also given a set of plastic table and chairs so we could enjoy our Greek coffee outside our tent every morning. Fantastic.
Was it all that perfect then? Obviously not but I believe I wouldn't make justice to the experience if I started murmuring about trivial things.
I must admit I am not a natural advocate of camping because I prefer the comfort of a proper hotel bed. It'is my wife who enjoys it and the fact that our little girl can make friendships easier than when staying in a hotel. Have I changed my mind after ten days in Gythion Bay?? I must say that the other day I caught myself trying to plan our holidays for next year and Gythion Bay seemed to be central in this planning....Let's see.
